Unlocking Opportunities: Volunteer with Alexander Youth Network

At Alexander Youth Network, we believe in the transformative power of community engagement, and there’s no better way to make a lasting impact than by volunteering with our children. Here’s a glimpse into the rewarding volunteer opportunities within our agency:

Volunteer as an Individual

Tutoring:

Invest your time in shaping a brighter future for a child. For at least one hour per week, tutors work with our kids to enhance their academic skills in a one-on-one setting. Subjects range from reading with a child or assisting a child with their worksheets in math, reading comprehension, or writing.  The connection you build can make a world of difference. Please note that the minimum age requirement for tutors is 21.

Lunch Buddies:

Share a meal, share experiences. Lunch Buddies enjoy a meal on our campus followed by enriching activities with a child on a weekday.  Some activities lunch buddies do after mealtime are riding bikes, arts & crafts, or playing a game! The minimum age requirement for Lunch Buddies is 21.

Recreation Volunteers:

Bring joy and fun into the lives of our children through recreational activities. Whether it’s dance, yoga, sports, gardening, pet therapy, art, or crafts, your talents can make a lasting impression. Read the recreation volunteer job description here.

Please note: Direct service volunteers must successfully complete our application process, attend a 1–2-hour orientation, and commit to the minimum time requirement.

Volunteer as a Group

Community or Corporate Groups:

Our day treatment and residential programs welcome community or corporate groups eager to get involved. From birthday parties and crafts to games, music, and non-direct volunteer opportunities like garden planting and landscaping, there are various ways to make a collective impact.

Please remember that group volunteers must be at least 16 years of age to work with the children on our campus.

The monthly activity calendar fills up quickly, so don’t miss out on the chance to bring your group together for a meaningful experience. Contact our Volunteer Engagement Officer, Ashley Nieves, for more details and check out our Volunteer Group Guidelines to learn about our group requirements.

Join us on this journey of compassion and empowerment. Volunteer with Alexander Youth Network and help us create brighter tomorrows for the children in our care. Together, we can make a difference!
