Happy Anniversary Craig Bass!

Craig Bass, CEO, Celebrates 36 Years at Alexander Youth Network!

Happy 36-year “AYN*niversary” to our Chief Executive Officer Officer, Craig Bass, MSW, ACSW.

Craig first joined Alexander in 1979 as a resident counselor.

“I came to Alexander to work with kids, and that’s what I did during my first three years here,” Craig shared. “I had enjoyed working as a camp counselor during high school and college, and wanted a job that would be like camp all year round. I got that and more when I started working as a resident counselor on the Charlotte campus.”

After his first 3 years as a counselor, Craig continued his education and received a Master of Social Work degree from the University of South Carolina. He would then return to Alexander in 1990 and be named Chief Executive Officer in 1992.

“Being CEO at Alexander is something I dreamed about during my first stint here. It is a great honor and privilege to lead an organization with such a rich history of strong community support,” Craig shared about his career at Alexander. “I have loved the opportunity to grow our programs to serve more kids across North Carolina. The best part, though, is working with my colleagues and watching the kids as they grow from the experience of being with us.”

When we asked Craig what he was most grateful for during his journey at Alexander, he shared, “I’m grateful for having a career that I enjoy so much and for the support of board members, donors, and staff that enabled me to grow personally and professionally and push the limits of what Alexander could be. I owe a huge debt of gratitude to the many people who have buoyed me along the way.”

Congratulations to you Craig on 36 years at Alexander! Your steadfast dedication to our mission has profoundly touched the lives of countless families we’ve served, making a lasting difference in their journeys towards brighter futures.
