Residential Treatment Center

Residential Care for Advanced Mental Health Needs

The Residential Treatment Center (RTC) at Alexander Youth Network is located in Greensboro, NC, for adolescents ages 13-17, with advanced mental and behavioral health needs. This program provides children with a behavioral or mental health diagnosis with structured, relationship-focused treatment through a residential around-the-clock therapeutic model.

While in residential behavioral health treatment, adolescents receive therapeutic interventions such as:

  • Dedicated treatment teams with family involvement
  • Sessions with a licensed therapist
  • Customized treatment plan with planning after a child leaves residential treatment

Our Treatment
Approach

The Greensboro RTC program provides intensive individual, group, and family therapy under the direction of a board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist with onsite nursing 24 hours a day.

Collaborative Care with
Families and Caregivers

As part of our RTC program, all children will receive a 30-day assessment to guide their comprehensive treatment plan, including stabilization, diagnostic evaluation, psychiatric treatment, 24-hour nursing, and post-discharge/aftercare treatment planning. This 30-day assessment ensures that together, we will identify the best, personalized treatment plan for your teenager while they are in our RTC program.

Intensive Psychiatric Residential Treatment (iPRTF)

Within the Greensboro RTC program, Alexander Youth Network now offers Intensive Psychiatric Residential Treatment (iPRTF).  Intensive Psychiatric Residential Treatment (iPRTF) is a targeted treatment program involving the whole family.

Through this program, Alexander provides families and their children with a family partner and therapist to coordinate weekly, in-home family therapy sessions to build the skills needed for a successful transition and unification when the child returns from residential treatment.

iPRTF is a very successful treatment model and studies have shown that through iPRTF programs, the average length of stay for kids in residential treatment is 165 days. Also, kids often experience zero readmissions within one year of discharge.
