Outpatient treatment allows therapists to gradually build a relationship with a child and understand the underlying issues leading to behavioral challenges. The therapists at Alexander specialize in assessment and therapy for past traumatic issues related to neglect, domestic violence, physical abuse, sexual abuse or loss of biological family.
At Alexander, we provide children with the support they need through dynamic treatment programs, including outpatient services, along with continuous engagement opportunities for families. Each child receives an assessment and a Patient-Centered Plan to guide treatment including our outpatient services. Our licensed clinicians conduct assessments.
Each assessment thoroughly examines:
- the child’s medical, family and social history
- past and present experiences
- growth and development
- presenting problems and previous treatment plans
Outpatient services can be used as a stepping-stone for treating emotional, behavioral, and mental health issues. Whether this is the first approach to solving behavioral issues or used as additional support while your child is transitioning from more structured therapy settings, Alexander strives to provide comprehensive support for children and families.
Alexander Youth Network specializes in offering solutions for children with behavior issues.
Outpatient therapy is hosted in a private setting on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, to meet the needs of each child. In addition, our therapists may host sessions outside of the clinical office. Sessions may take place in at home, at community locations, or in a school setting, to ensure that the child is getting the support they need in a setting that is familiar to them. Families can also seek outpatient services to aid in psychological testing, medication management, and school-based programs.
At Alexander, we also offer services to meet the needs of our diverse population by having a contracted Spanish-speaking interpreter, as well as additional interpretation services including American Sign Language via telepsychiatry services
