PRESS ROOM FAST FACTS SPECIAL EVENTS CONTACT

Alexander Youth Network uses volunteers to help with everything from fundraising tasks to mentoring children in its programs. In you are interested in volunteering
the first step is to contact Volunteer Services to arrange for a tour and interview. We conduct tours as requested, or you may elect to come for one of
our Alexander Friday lunch and tours. We offer these free, informal information sessions bi-weekly to introduce people in the community
to the work of Alexander. To inquire, call 704.366.8712.
FOR VOLUNTEERS WORKING WITH CHILDREN
Volunteers working directly with children, including
Lunch Buddies, Tutors, and Mentors, are required to come for a facility
tour and in-person interview, participate in a three-hour orientation (typically offered in the evenings), undergo a criminal background check
and take a TB test (we provide the test for free). Volunteers are typically placed in one-on-one matches for periods
of 4 months to a year, depending on how long the child may be in an Alexander program.
FOR SUPPORT VOLUNTEERS NOT WORKING DIRECTLY WITH CHILDREN
Volunteers not working directly with children are required to take a facility tour and successfully complete the application process.
