Community Support

Alexander Youth Network provides Community Support services through its Home-based Family Services program to children age 5 to 18 and their families. Services are provided in Mecklenburg County and contiguous counties, and in Caldwell County and counties contiguous to Caldwell. Services help create a support system for the child that allows an emotionally disturbed youtyh to live in the least restrictive setting possible. Services are tailored to each child and family in terms of content, frequency of contact, and duration. Staff provides a person-centered plan through collaboration with family members, formal resources and natural supports identified by the family. The program focuses on training primary caregivers in working with an emotionally disturbed child and on helping the family build a support network that will allow the child to remain in the home.
