Testimonials
Leslie Holmes, Junior League Member and Lunch Buddy
Alexander Youth Network is a special place committed to serving children in great need. I consider myself very blessed to have been raised in a loving family surrounded by many positive role models. The best way I know to express my gratitude is to help provide troubled children the same positive experience. The feeling I have when I leave AYN’s campus is difficult to replicate, and the overall experience has been extremely rewarding for me. As a volunteer, all it takes is willingness and a time commitment. There are many different ways to volunteer at AYN, and I encourage others to consider engaging themselves to contribute to such a great cause.
Tony Belk, Volunteer Leadership Council and Lunch Buddy
Recently my lunch buddy and I completed a model ship together. As we were returning to class, he ran up, hugged me and said, "God bless you, Mr. Tony, for being my friend." I don't know what prompted him to say it. One thing I am sure of is that it touched my heart. Other people may be doing their own thing in life, but I would not change anything I've been doing the past four years volunteering at Alexander."
Mary Sherrill, Dinner Buddy and Junior League Volunteer
It makes my day when I walk in and all the kids say hello to me – I have received so much through this experience and if I have ten other things on my mind when I arrive, I just push them to the back and have a great time talking to the kids and doing something fun. The children really look up to the adults around campus, and you can tell it is a place where they feel safe and cared for – it is a really special place!
