Alexander greatly appreciates in-kind gifts. In 2004, more than 1,200 children will pass through the agency. Many of the children in residential programs are from poverty-stricken homes and arrive with little more than the clothes on their backs.
In-kind gifts are accepted at our main office in Charlotte on Thermal Road and at our main office in Lenoir on Ridge Street. To find out if a gift is suitable and to arrange drop-off, call, in Charlotte, 704.366.8712, and, in Lenoir, 828.757.9706.
Generally, the items needed most include:
Boys'/Men's and Girls'/Women's New and Lightly Worn Clothing and Shoes.
New Socks, Underwear, Undershirts, Sports Bras and Pajamas (children's size 8 through adult sizes)
Recreational needs such as sporting equipment, model car kits, arts & crafts supplies, videos, CDs, games and puzzles.
Hygiene items such as shampoo, brushes, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste and hair accessories.
School Supplies such as spiral notebooks, pens, markers, pencils, erasers, flash cards and new books.
