On Saturday, April 9, the Arts and Science Council and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools’ Parent University will hold a day of fun and information for the whole family. From 10 am to 5 pm, families can enjoy access to museums, arts and cultural venues along uptown’s “Cultural Mile” (from the Harvey B. Gantt Center to the McColl Center for Visual Art). Alexander’s Drum Ensemble To Perform at Kids in Motion

Kids in Motion is a community festival that showcases cars, trucks and things that GO! Children of all ages have the opportunity to explore, get involved and be entertained while parents gain valuable tips on improving the mental, dental and physical wellness of their children and families. More than 4,000 kids and their parents attended in 2010. Proceeds support the JLC’s Healthy Child Initiative, which provides funding for programs, projects and advocacy that improve the mental, dental and physical health of Charlotte’s children.
